SPENDING CUTS A MUST

NE Taxpayers Committees of Correspondence are pressing for state & local spending restrictions in the 2021 Legislature, e.g., no spending above Midwest CPI calculation + population growth.  Property taxes will continue to skyrocket, unless senators slow the rate of profligate spending growth.  Lobby your state senator now.  Email netaxpayers@gmail.com for senator contact info & to join our Committees of Correspondence in your county.

READ CONSERVATIVE

Taxpayers disgusted from reading, seeing, & listening to liberal media sources disseminating biased news & events upon which to waste our tax $$ should pledge to begin accessing only conservative media sources.  Examples: One America News Network, Breitbart News, Washington Times, Epoch, the Daily Wire & KFAB Talk Radio.  Stop subscribing to leftist rags like the Omaha Weird-Herald & Lincoln Urinal that slant the news against conservative

public officials & their taxpaying followers.

NOT MY ADMINISTRATION

Because of overwhelming credible evidence of vote fraud in several states this election, a Biden-Harris Regime would lack legitimacy both internally and abroad.  Taxpaying citizens naturally will consider spurious this regime’s legislative agenda, all undoubtedly extremely harmful to those who pay taxes.  Therefore, taxpayers rightly have a civic and constitutional duty to not accept illegitimate election results & actively challenge and oppose each of this regime’s initiatives.  Email netaxpayers@gmail.com to join the NE Taxpayers President Watch Project.

TAXPAYERS SCREWED

The Omaha Public School District suffers millions in pension indebtedness, huge bonded indebtedness, and cost overruns in its building projects.  Yet, an OP$ board majority rejected a $630,000 bid for the old Yates School building, its valuation set at up to $737,000, for a retiree facility.  The board instead voted for a $100,000 bid from a group that will allow the Refugee Empowerment Center, which services unvetted aliens, to use the premises. The board apparently cares more for aliens than retired citizens.  Only board member Lou Ann Goding voted for taxpayers.  Email netaxpayers@gmail.com to join the NE Taxpayers Education Watch Project.

STOP VOTE FRAUD

The Trump campaign rightfully is challenging obvious and premeditated vote fraud in several states as ballots continue to be counted.  President Trump may well win re-election, if the federal court system rules in his favor or the U.S. Supreme Court rules favorably on his challenges.  Email or call your representative and Sen. Fischer’s local office to support the Trump legal challenges.  Sen. Sasse already has welcomed Biden.  A Biden-Harris Regime undoubtedly will repeal every Trump tax cut given individuals & businesses.  Email netaxpayers@gmail.com for congressional contact information.

MEDIA BIAS

If Biden and Comrade Kamala win this election, much credit goes to ABC (All ‘Bout Clinton), CBS (Clinton B.S.), NBC (Nothing But Clinton), & CNN (Clinton News Network).  These propaganda arms of the Socialist Democrat Party daily indoctrinate and fool the American Sheeple into voting for leftists and persuade citizens to despise President Trump.  Under a Biden-Harris Regime, conservative taxpayers will be plundered mercilessly.  Email netaxpayers@gmail.com to join our NE Taxpayers President Watch Project.

EDUCATION INDOCTRINATION

An increasing percentage of young people are voting Socialist Democrat.  Much of this trend caused by leftist public school teachers indoctrinating our boys & girls at an early age to despise capitalism and the precepts of our Constitution bestowed upon us by our Founding Fathers.  The remedy: legislation to allow school choice, so that parents who now pay about 60% of their property taxes in NE to public education can send their kids to private, parochial, & charter schools, & use vouchers, thus avoiding leftist indoctrination.  Let’s find a NE state senator to introduce a bill in Jan.  Email netaxpayers@gmail.com to join our NE Taxpayers Education Watch Project.

ILL TIDAL WAVE

It is becoming increasingly difficult for “us” taxpaying conservatives and our candidates to win elections.  Simply stated, there are increasingly more of “them” than “us.”  “Them” are freeloading individuals who suck off the welfare system and get “free stuff.”  “Them” includes the explosive growth in the population of legal/illegal aliens coming from nations with no history of representative government and institutions like ours.  They do not share our belief in our constitutional system and vote Socialist Democrat.  Demographically, they will eventually overwhelm “us” at the polls.  Email netaxpayers@gmail.com to join our NE Taxpayers Project Immigration.

LOOKING GOOD

Nebraska Taxpayers for Freedom members waved signs at 126th & Pacific Streets this morning for Don Bacon.  Got lots of honks, waves, & thumbs up, more than our sign waving has gotten at any other election.  Good sign that Cong. Bacon will win re-election and stop Comrade Kara from voting the socialist line in D.C.

PROTECT OUR VOTES

Socialist Democrats in the Eastman congressional campaign charged with ballot harvesting, picking up ballots from other individuals to deposit.  There is no guarantee that harvested ballots will be deposited and could be altered.  Ballot harvesters often take advantage of the mentally challenged and those residing in elder care facilities.  Voting is a sacred constitutional right and should be rigorously protected.  Urge your state senator to criminalize ballot harvesting.

VOTE FRAUD?

Leftwing Heartland Workers Center, supposedly nonprofit, is distributing candidate voting information in South and North Omaha, probably intended to defeat Rep. Don Bacon.  The center targets demographic groups leaning Socialist Democrat.  Because it focuses on precincts with many immigrants, a possibility that it will help illegal aliens vote. Amazingly, the City of Omaha budget has funded this center.   We must find a state senator to introduce a bill to prohibit nonprofits from engaging in partisan political activities anathema to taxpayers.

BETTER CANDIDATE

Dist. 31 taxpayers have suffered for 8 years from State Sen. Rick Kolowski voting the leftist teachers’ union line at the Legislature.  Taxpayers now have the opportunity to vote for Rich Pahls, a former state senator and city councilman, someone who actually will sit down with you and listen to your suggestions, complaints, etc. Pahls as a council member has championed taxpayers with his ideas for garbage collection, infrastructure, etc.  His opponent is a Kolowski clone, an active teachers’ union member who will block tax relief.

GOOD RIDDANCE TO DUDA

Double good riddance to Clare Duda!  RINO Douglas County Commissioner Duda took a parting shot at taxpayers by endorsing Socialist Democrat Jo Giles instead of conservative Republican Mike Friend as his successor.  Friend crushed Duda in the primary, mainly owing to Duda enriching himself with huge salary votes and tax hike votes.  Friend, a fiscal conservative and champion of taxpayers while a state senator, will be a valuable ally to county taxpayers in budgetary matters coming before the board.  Our NE Taxpayers for Freedom group solidly supports him & has provided volunteers.

FLAGRANT ABUSE OF TAX $$

Although the contract stipulated only an annual salary increase matching the CPI for the Papio NRD Gen. Manager, the following 8 NRD Board members generously voted him a 6% hike, about $8,532: Begley, Bradley, Conley, Japp, McCormick, Sopinski, Tesar, & Thompson.  Voting against this outrageous increase and with taxpayers were Board members Gruenewald & Wiese.  Bradley & Tesar face re-election Nov. 3.  Don’t vote for them.

OUR WORST ENEMY

The Red China economic recovery from COVID-19 sees consumers flooding shopping malls and car dealerships.  Its economic growth has grown by 4.9% over 2019.  Its factories are booming, production rising by 5.8%, thanks to orders for face masks & other medical supplies desperately needed in Europe & North America.  Chinese exporters are grabbing markets from U.S. companies.  Meanwhile, the U.S. economy has shrunk by 4.3%.  Anyone who still believes that this pandemic was an accident is a total fool!  The Chicoms are our #1 enemy.

Saturday, October 24, 2020

OUR CHAMPION

President Trump has issued an executive order that would remove job security from tens of thousands of federal civil servants. His directive strips civil service protections from employees whose work involves policymaking, allowing their dismissal with little recourse.  This action the President deemed necessary, because leftist entrenched bureaucrats continually delay and hinder implementation of his executive orders to reform the federal government & drain the D.C. swamp.  Urge your congressman to support this measure & email netaxpayers@gmail.com to join our NE Taxpayers President Watch Project.

ONE GREAT CANDIDATE

Too often conservative taxpayers pay little attention to conservative candidates running for lesser offices, e.g., natural resource district (NRD) boards, community college boards. These boards levy property taxes, so it is crucial that we elect/re-elect fiscally conservative individuals. NE Taxpayers for Freedom highly recommends a vote for Christian Mirch for Dist. 3 NRD. He is an accomplished professional with a sterling background in law and law enforcement. His legal acumen will serve him well to curtail reckless NRD spending on unnecessary dams that mostly benefit developers. Email mail.com for our NTF Voting Guide.

BIDEN MEANS HIGHER TAXES

Joe Biden would raise income taxes on those with incomes over $400,000, severely curtailing monies invested in our economy.  He would raise all individual and corporate income, capital gains, & payroll taxes.  The proposal imposes a 12.45% Social Security payroll tax on additional income.  His tax plan would repeal the 2017 Trump tax reductions.  The estate tax exemption would drop by about 50%.  The Tax Foundation declares his plan would reduce our gross domestic product.  Protect your savings & income!  Vote Trump!

A BETTER ALTERNATIVE

The Omaha City Council will vote Tue. on a new recycling contract.  Recycling costs are rising sharply, because most overseas countries now refuse to accept recyclables, fearing contamination.  Now is the time for Mayor Stothert & council members to realize that new technology is bringing almost pollution-free incinerators online in communities worldwide.  No more recyclables to the landfill or recycling dumps.  Incinerators will burn all garbage & yard waste, producing energy to provide power to thousands of Omaha homes & businesses.  Lobby your city council member today to vote for only a short recycling contract!  Email netaxpayers@gmail.com to join our NTF City Watch Proj

STOP CRITICIZING

“Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who’s the fairest of them all?”  This quote was from the Witch in Snow White, but it also describes Sen. Ben Sasse, who apparently believes he is the fairest of all by trashing Pres. Trump.  Sasse’s overflowing vanity only impedes Trump re-election chances.  Fighting between conservative officeholders does not help the conservative cause.  Hopefully, other conservative senators will take Sen. Sasse aside and counsel him to discontinue his diatribes against Pres. Trump.

CORRECT TERMINOLOGY

During this election season, the liberal media has redoubled its campaign to label conservative groups & candidates as “far right,” “extremists,” or even “fascists.”  This media conveniently labels socialist & communist groups and candidates as “progressives” or “moderates.”  The media intention is to sway voters.  Conservatives can return the favor by accurately calling lib media candidates & their supporting groups “Socialist Democrats,” “socialists,” “communist-oriented,” or RINOS (Republican in name only).  Email netaxpayers@gmail.com for our taxpayer voting guide.

Friday, October 16, 2020

VOTE RIGHT

Before you criticize our NE Taxpayers for Freedom group for wrongly labeling a candidate conservative or liberal, examine the voting records of these candidates, as we do.  We evaluate candidates & office holders based on their voting records and contributors, not on what they disseminate in their campaign literature or in their TV or radio commercials.  Yes, politicians do lie!  The candidates NTF supports have fiscally conservative voting records.  Email netaxpayers@gmail.com for our Voting Guide.

DON'T VOTE FOR RINOS

RINOS do not deserve re-election.  One blatant example is Allen Hager, running for re-election to the Learning Community, a bureaucratic nightmare imposed on taxpayers by the Legislature.  The LC flagrantly wastes our property tax & other tax $$ and provides little academic improvement for poor kids.  It does not bar services to illegal aliens. The LC rightly deserves elimination as a taxing authority . Hager regularly votes along with the rest of the pack to continue reckless spending, e.g.  to approve a socio-economic diversity plan for the FY 2018-2019 school year.  He does not deserve taxpayer

votes!

POOR EDUCATION

The trickle of parents pulling their children from OPS schools has reached a tidal wave, as 1,400 OP$ students have fled the district.  The reasons are simple.  Incompetent administrators scheduling students on-line part of a week and in class other days.  No sports season.  Union teachers more intent on radicalizing their students instead of teaching them about American Exceptionalism.  Incomprehensible Common Core curriculum that students, teachers, & parents cannot understand.  And OP$ wants state taxpayers to assume responsibility for its grossly underfunded pension system.  Email netaxpayers@gmail.com to join our NE Taxpayers Education Watch Project.

Monday, October 12, 2020

A CLEAR CHOICE

State Sen. Carol Blood, running for re-election, is no friend to taxpayers.  She voted to raise filing fees over 100% for taxpayers challenging their higher property valuations and to force cities like Bellevue to establish dense, government-subsidized housing in single family residential neighborhoods, which would destroy property values.  Blood also voted to make it more difficult to terminate welfare benefits and voted to extend maximum Medicaid expansion.  Her opponent, Rick Holdcroft, is a fiscal conservative.

THE BAD AND THE GOOD

One of the most vigorous opponents of real property tax relief is the NSEA teachers union.  It has pumped a $15,280 contribution into the Tim Royers Dist. 31 legislative race.  Royers is the head of the Millard teachers union.  In addition to opposing the death penalty & being pro-abortion, in 1 of his essays he argues that public school curricula should abandon the traditional view of American exceptionalism, saying it is difficult to defend.  Such teaching I believe results in the radicalization of students, our children, molding them into the rioters and Flag-burners we now see on our streets.  Royers’ opponent is moderate Republican Rich Pahls.

DESERVES RE-ELECTION

Sen. Bruce Bostelman has served taxpayers well in Dist. 23.  He voted for the property tax relief bill, tax relief for those with military pensions, to protect the rights of gun owners, and against raising the filing fee over 100% for property valuation challenges.  Volunteer now for his re-election campaign & email netaxpayers@gmail.c

BAD MEDICINE FOR TAXPAYERS

State Sen. Anna Wishart is poison for NE taxpayers.  She voted to raise filing fees for property valuation challenges by over 200%.  She voted to allow creation of a new metro transit authority with a maximum property tax levy.  Wishart also voted to tax Internet sales.  And she regularly votes to expand and extend welfare programs.  A taxpaying Lincoln voter should not WISH for the re-election of Anna Wishart.  Her opponent, Brenda Bickford, is a solid fiscal conservative

DO THE RIGHT THING

Some taxpayers seem to believe that attending supportive speaking engagements and luncheons or writing a check for a candidate fulfills their responsibility to help fiscally conservative candidates & incumbents win elections/re-elections.  Not so.  Candidates win based on grunt work…putting up yard signs, distributing fliers door to door, calling prospective voters on the phone (who may hang up on you), & standing out in the cold on Election Day handing out candidate poll cards.  Do these things now to help your conservative candidate win!  Email netaxpayers@gmail.com for our Nebraska Taxpayers Voting Guide.😃

WE NEED TIM

The Douglas County Board sorely needs the infusion of conservative commissioners.  Tim Lonergan is one fiscal conservative who taxpayers should support and offer volunteer assistance to put up yard signs & distribute fliers.  Tim is a successful small businessman.  He pledges to oppose all property tax increases not approved by popular vote and oppose pay hikes for commissioners, who have increased their salaries by 50% in recent years.  He also has a great plan to utilize new technology to streamline county services.  See more at www.votelonergan.com.

Sunday, October 04, 2020

ONE BAD CANDIDATE

Congressional candidate Kate Bolz is bad for Nebraska taxpayers.  As a state senator, she voted to raise the filing fees to challenge property valuation increases, to allow government land banks to compete with private developers, make it more difficult to expel violent public school students, & cancel traditional Columbus Day.  NE taxpayers do not need a Bolz Weevil in Congress to vote with Nancy Pelosi.  Email netaxpayers@gmail.com for our conservative voting guide.

ONE GREAT CANDIDATE

Dodge County residents now suffer under the socialist voting record of State Sen. Lynne Walz.  One of her bills makes it easier to remain on the welfare wagon.  Another restricts authorities and lets violent “inmates run the asylum” at youth detention facilities.  Her opponent is Dave Rogers, a super intelligent independent businessman who has a keen recognition of how we must achieve comprehensive tax, spending, and regulation reform in the Legislature.  If you value your properties, savings, and businesses in Dodge County, Dave Rogers needs your help.  Email netaxpayers@gmail.com for our NE Taxpayers Voting Guide.

TRUMP HEALTH PLAN

President Trump unveiled his America First Healthcare Plan. Patients will be in charge of their care, not bureaucrats at an indifferent Federal agency. When President Trump took office, over half of U.S. counties offered plans from only a single insurance provider on the individual market. As of next month, more than 90% of American counties will have multiple options to choose from. For years, patients have been shocked to receive unexpected bills for thousands of dollars in medical services they never agreed to. The Trump plan bans this unfair practice and ends surprise medical billing.  With new ways for Medicare to pay providers, Americans will have access to doctors they trust whenever needed. The President is also ensuring that politicians don’t block much-needed research and innovation, ensuring Americans access to the best health care in the world.  Email netaxpayers@gmail.com to join NE Taxpayers for Trump!

VOTE RIGHT

Early voting will begin soon, & voters must decide for whom to vote.  If you are a taxpaying conservative, you do not want to vote for a Socialist Dem or a RINO.  One best way to check on who supports a candidate is to access the state Accountability & Disclosure Comm. website at https://nadc.nebraska.gov.  Click on View Campaign Filings, click on the SEARCH tab, & type in the name of the candidate or candidate committee you wish to access.  If a candidate, for example, has accepted a contribution from the state teachers’ union, you know that candidate is not a fiscal conservative.  Email netaxpayers@gmail.com for our voter guide.

THE REAL PROBLEM

The real problem in the Legislature is not extreme partisanship between Republicans and Socialist Democrats. The real problem is that RINO (Republicans in Name Only) senators like John McCollister vote with the socialists and support their legislation. This sorry situation precludes property tax relief. Bringing solid tax relief to the Unicameral will require the GOP establishment to tell the RINOS to get lost & find fiscal conservative candidates to run in their districts. Still waiting.

KAMALA KARE

90 days into the Harris-Biden Regime: The Regime announced the immediate levying of a 5% tax on all paychecks and Social Security payments in order to subsidize “free” Socialist Health Care for All.  No more insurance co-pays or premiums!  There will be a bit of medical care rationing, however.  If you are over 65 and suffer from a debilitating condition like heart disease, cancer, or COPD, Kamala Kare will guarantee that you are only entitled to pain pills and a Biden Bear to ease your pain and discomfort.  Vote conservative on Nov. 3!

CELEBRATE CONSTITUTION DAY

Today is Constitution Day.  NE Taxpayers for Freedom hopes every NE citizen takes a few minutes to read our sacred Constitution bestowed upon us by our Founding Fathers.  These men (and women who didn’t get credit), having sacrificed greatly in wartime, granted us a system of laws & government never then practiced anywhere in the world.  It is the responsibility of posterity to protect this gift.  In this election, we face an unprecedented assault on our Constitution by socialists/communists in the Democrat Party.  As of this date, we still have the opportunity to use our constitutional right of voting to elect & re-elect patriotic, conservative candidates on Nov. 3.  Do not allow the Socialist Democrats to destroy our constitutional heritage.  And a special thanks to State Sen. Julie Slama for sponsoring LB 399, a bill to encourage NE public school students to study our Constitution.

THE REAL PROBLEM

The Omaha Weird-Herald whined about partisanship in the Legislature preventing that body from making substantive decisions on key issues.  The problem is not partisanship; it is ideological differences.  There are a number of senators who seriously want tax relief for Nebraskans.  There also are Socialist Democrats and RINOS who don’t want tax relief but more spending on welfare programs and restraints on law enforcement.  On Nov. 3, Nebraskans can break this deadlock by voting for fiscally conservative candidates and incumbents.  Volunteer for their campaigns now.  Only then can we gain a legislative majority to pass real property tax relief and reform.  Email netaxpayers@gmail.com to join the effort!

ELIMINATE THIS BUREAUCRACY

Your Douglas-Sarpy Co. tax $$ at work: The Learning Community (LC) spent $19,320.40 in July & August for baby diapers and formula.  The objective of the LC is to improve academic achievement for poor & minority children, not provide babysitting services.  The LC is an out of control bureaucracy, its board members continually seeking to expand its services outside its original objectives, wasting our tax $$ in wanton disregard for fiscal control.  Despite its profligate spending, no creditable improvement in academic achievement for its hapless students.  Contact your state senator to eliminate the LC before it expands outstate.  Email  netaxpayers@gmail.com to join our NTF Education Watch Project.

TAXPAYERS LOST A HERO

Taxpayers lost a hero with the passing of Chuck Sigerson.  While on the Omaha City Council, Chuck always spoke for and voted for city property taxpayers, and he spoke both sincerely and forcefully.  When he occasionally disagreed with our taxpayer group, he carefully explained his reasoning.  It was unfortunate that his health precluded him from advancing up the political ladder to higher office, where he certainly would have similarly championed the taxpayer cause.  Taxpayers should be grateful that he helped us as much as he did, and we should remember his public service always.

ONE MORE REASON TO VOTE FOR TRUMP

Riots, burning, looting, assaults, & other mayhem continues in many American cities.  Almost ignored in this tumult is the fact that local taxpayers must pay to repair all the damage to civic infrastructure.  Looted and vandalized businesses, disgusted with the ongoing disorder, are fleeing to more peaceful localities, depriving their former locales of business tax revenue.  These inflamed metropolises will only add to the number of decaying and crime-ridden cities already abandoned by their productive populations.  We will now have to listen to their Socialist Democrat civic leaders beg for state and federal aid to pay their bills.  The remedy: Vote Trump in 2020.

GOOD RIDDANCE CONFUCIUS INSTITUTE

Only for budget-cutting reasons has UN-L closed its Confucius Institute, a Red Chinese front widely acknowledged for spying, stealing commercial secrets, & otherwise engaging in subversion on college campuses.  UN-L is one of the last U.S. campuses to expel this Institute.  Unfortunately, the UN-L chancellor supports other partnerships with the communist regime.  Now, irate taxpayers must lobby their university regents to expel the UN-O Confucius Institute, whose staff salaries NE taxpayers help pay.  All 8 regents have refused to expel Confucius Institutes from NE.  Share your opinions with them as follows:  Tim Clare tclare@nebraska.edu, Howard Hawks hhawks@nebraska.edu, Jim Pillen jpillen@nebraska.edu, Elizabeth O’Connor eoconnor@nebraska.edu, Robert Schafer rschafer@nebraska.edu, Paul Kenney pkenney@nebraska.edu, Bob Phares bphares@nebraska.edu, and Barbara Weitz bweitz@nebraska.edu

DO A CIVIC DUTY

So many taxpayers are not registered to vote.  The only way to lower taxes in our state right now is to elect candidates and return incumbents who pledge to reform our tax system.  Every vote counts.  Contact every one of your conservative taxpayer friends, relatives, & neighbors and confirm that they are registered voters.  Citizens who do not register to vote should not complain about their tax burden.  And be sure to volunteer for at least 1 conservative candidate in your area.

GOOD RIDDANCE TO DUDA

In a guest WH editorial this morning, Rick Galusha heaped praise on Douglas Co. Commissioner Clare Duda as eminently respectful.  As a taxpayer who frequently speaks at county board meetings, I have found Duda to be seriously disrespectful, condescending, and downright insulting to taxpayers who take time from their busy lives to testify before the county board on tax issues.  Duda voted to raise his salary over 50% in only a few years, raised our property taxes regularly, & recently voted to spend millions of CARES Act $$ on entertainment venues instead of aiding first responders & medical personnel.  He richly deserved his beating in the May primary, and good riddance to him & his horrid hyena laugh.

WATCH OUT FOR THOSE TAXES.

Local government subdivisions around the state are making increased noises about having to raise their property taxes, if they do not receive enough CARES Act money to pay for unanticipated expenses caused by the coronavirus pandemic.  There is only a finite amount of $$ available from the CARES Act.  This local government threat merely provides another excuse for cities, towns, counties, school districts, NRDs, etc. to hike our property taxes during a time when citizens are suffering sometimes catastrophic financial pressure from the economic downtown.  Learn how to be a taxpayer watchdog.  Email netaxpayers@gmail.com

VOTE SMART IN NOVEMBER

More and more seasoned citizens are leaving NE for other states that have lower overall taxes.  Professional people also are seeking employment in states where they can save more of their earnings.  Their disposable income leaves with them.  Our legislature, unfortunately, will never comprehensively reform our taxation system, unless we elect additional fiscally conservative candidates for Legislature on Nov. 3.  Don’t just whine on social media.  Volunteer to elect or re-elect one of these candidates.  Email netaxpayers@gmail.com for our voting guide.

COUNTY BOARD SQUANDERS CARES ACT $$

Douglas County Commissioners have squandered addition CARES Act federal tax dollars.  $5 million bestowed upon the Henry Doorly Zoo to fund cameras, sensors, air conditioning units, and marketing to help cover $29 million in lost revenue.  Many businesses have lost revenue.  This money should go to first responders in the public & private sectors, health care employees, & coronavirus victims.  Shame on county commissioners.  This pandemic continues.  COVID-19 victims and those who risk their health & lives daily deserve financial aid.  Email netaxpayers@gmail.com to join our NTF County Watch Project.

DON'T FEED THE RINOS.

I oftentimes hear Republicans say that, when voting, they vote the straight Republican ballot from top to bottom.  Upon questioning, they readily admit that they really don’t know if all these candidates are fiscal conservatives on tax & spending issues.  Unfortunately, a few GOP candidates invariably are RINOs (Republicans in Name Only), those who do not adhere to fiscally conservative policies, or incumbents who regularly vote with Socialist Democrats.  Do yourself & other taxpayers a favor before voting.  Check out voting records, references, & political backgrounds of GOP candidates.  Don’t feed the RINOS with your vote. Email netaxpayers@gmail.com for our 2020 General Election Voters Guide.

STOP WHINING AND BEGIN VOLUNTEERING.

Many taxpaying conservatives appear to post regularly on social media about all the atrocious mayhem caused by the Radical Left.  This bullying, looting, & mayhem is common knowledge.  What taxpaying conservatives must do is stop cringing & begin volunteering to help taxpayer-friendly candidates distribute flyers door to door, place yard signs, call from phone banks, write editorials, & publicize these candidates on social media.  In the Omaha metro area, Socialist Democrat candidate yard signs are springing up like mushrooms, their flyers piling up on doorsteps, their phone calls & social media presence extensive.  Taxpayers will not win on Nov. 3 by complaining; we can win only by actively helping conservative candidates.  Email netaxpayers@gmail.com for details.

PROTECT YOUR BALLOT

The Nov. election will decide if high-tax Socialist Democrats or a conservative presidential administration will lead the country.  In this close election, every taxpayer vote will count.  Therefore, it is imperative that every taxpayer vote safely, by either voting on election day in person or dropping a ballot at the election commissioner/county clerk office or at one of their drop boxes.  Mailing in your ballot early by the postal service appears risky, as the postal union has endorsed Gropey Joe Biden.  The USPS “lost” or “misplaced” thousands of mailed-in ballots in the 2020 primary.  Don’t waste your vote for convenience.  And don’t forget to volunteer for conservative candidates.

BAD POLITICAL DUDES

So State Sen. John McCollister & former State Sen. Al Davis endorsed Gropey Joe Biden for President.  No surprise.  Biden pledges to eradicate the needed tax relief given us by President Trump.  McCollister rarely votes for taxpayer relief in the Legislature.  High Tax Al Davis lost his re-election race to a taxpayer champion, Tom Brewer.  What I term apostate Republicans McCollister & Davis no doubt will end their political careers in deserved scorned obscurity, just like Benedict Arnold, a character thoroughly reviled in our political history.

EXPEL THE CONFUCIUS INSTITUTES

Several months ago, our NE Taxpayers for Freedom group respectfully asked all 8 NE University regents to vote to expel the Confucius Institutes, partially subsidized with state taxes, from the UN-L & UN-O campuses. This request following 2 Senate investigative committees, other investigative sources, & the FBI warning that this Institute was engaging in subversion and espionage on U.S. campuses.  Many other university systems already have expelled this Institute.  However, not one NE University regent responded to our request.  With pressure building nationwide to expel the Institutes, time for taxpayers to again lobby Regents Tim Clare, Howard Hawks, Jim Pillen, Elizabeth O’Connor, Robert Schafer, Paul Kenney, Bob Phares, and Barbara Weitz at https://nebraska.edu/regents/contact-the-regents

STOP THE REPEAL

Now that Gov. Ricketts has signed the property tax relief bill into law, leftist state senators desperately are trying to find 33 senators to sign onto an effort to call a special legislative session.  Their purpose is to repeal the property tax relief law and spend additional tax $$ on welfare benefits for those considered inconvenienced by the COVID-19 pandemic.  These leftist senators appear more concerned for the benefit beggars than for first responders like law officers, firefighters, paramedics, & medical and nursing home personnel who daily risk the health and lives of themselves & their families to fight this pandemic & help its victims.  Lobby your senator to NOT support a special session.  Email netaxpayers@gmail.com for senator contact information.

LIBERALS NEVER GIVE UP

Relieved at having pushed through a property tax bill offering us a bit of tax relief, taxpayers now must contend with liberal senators & their allies who want a special legislative session. Its purpose? To repeal the tax relief bill and override gubernatorial vetoes of the snake braids bill and early release for convicts bill. The libs also want to spend more of our tax $$ on welfare benefits for those supposedly inconvenienced by the COVID-19 pandemic. Contact your state senator TODAY to urge the Governor to NOT call a special session. Email netaxpayers@gmail.com for state senator contact information.

Some of the loudest opponents of the LB 1107 property tax relief bill are union teachers in the Omaha Public School District.  Sounding just as loud is the tidal wave noise we hear from OPS parents opting out their children into neighboring school districts.  The main reasons I hear for this mass exodus are poor instruction and poor curriculum in OPS.  Perhaps the OPS teachers who criticize the property tax relief for their student’s parents instead should concentrate on improving their instructional skills and seeking improved curricula in  their classrooms.  Email netaxpayers@gmail.com to join our NTF Education Watch Project.

GREEDY TEACHERS' UNION

The recently-passed property tax relief bill for the 1st year will offer taxpayers only a 6% refundable state tax credit on property taxes paid ONLY to their public school district.  But the greedy NE State Education Association rumored to either begin a petition campaign or introduce a legislative bill to REPEAL this small property tax credit.  The teachers’ union insatiable greed knows no bounds.  It appears to want to retain high property taxes plus grab huge helpings of state revenue for its inflated salaries & generous benefits.  Help elect legislative candidates this fall who decline to accept tantalizing teacher union contributions.

HEALTH CARE ADVISORY

Americans for Tax Reform today released a coalition letter signed by 80 free market, conservative, and libertarian groups and activists in opposition to President Donald Trump’s recent “Most Favored Nation” executive order.

If implemented, the order would impose an “International Pricing Index” on Medicare Part B drugs, tying American drug prices to the prices in foreign countries with government-run healthcare systems.

President Trump has repeatedly stood strong against the left’s calls for socialized medicine, even promising in the 2020 State of the Union Address that “we will never let socialism destroy American healthcare.”

Unfortunately, an MFN policy would adopt these same socialist healthcare policies and threaten American medical innovation. As the letter notes:

Adopting these price controls will slow medical innovation, threaten American jobs, and undermine criticism of single-payer systems. In addition, a United States embrace of price controls will make it immeasurably more difficult to get foreign countries to pay their own way in the development of new medicines.

An MFN policy would also threaten our COVID-19 response and exacerbate foreign freeloading off of American innovation. As the letter notes:

The U.S. is the best in the world when it comes to developing innovative, lifesaving and life preserving medicines. Because of this, the U.S. is leading the way when it comes to developing COVID-19 vaccines, with several promising candidates entering the final stages of testing and clinical trials.

In contrast, foreign countries have been free riding off this American medical innovation for decades through crushing price controls and other market-distorting government rules and regulations.

The MFN order would also harm our economy through a decrease in research and development. Medical innovation directly or indirectly supports 4 million jobs and $1.1 trillion in total economic impact, which will be threatened by importing price controls from foreign countries.

Finally, the letter urges President Trump to apply the same successful, deregulatory, market-based approach that he has championed in other policy areas to health care:

As President, you have championed vital changes in tax and regulatory policies that have allowed free market innovation to flourish. We believe a market-based approach like those that your administration has consistently supported in other policy areas will lead to economic growth and promising new treatments, but adopting price controls through the MFN plan would undermine rather than build on those successes.

ANOTHER HIGHER TAX BURDEN THAN NECESSARY

The Papio-Mo. River NRD amasses tax dollars by appropriating megabucks for projects it does not begin, then carries over the same appropriations the next fiscal year. This NRD also habitually overfunds projects, we think intentionally, but spends only a much lesser amount of tax revenue on these projects. It’s called Bloating the Budget, a convenient scheme among property taxing entities. Instead, this NRD board should lower our tax levy and stop hoarding our tax $$ for unneeded dams. Lobby your NRD board members to cut the tax rate and email netaxpayers@gmail.com to join our NE Taxpayers NRD Watch Project.

DON'T TURN OMAHA INTO PORTLAND!

Omaha Councilman Chris Jerram joins rioters, vandals, and looters in seeking to amend the city budget by defunding the police dept. by $2 million. He wants $500,000 for Heartland Workforce Solutions, which duplicates efforts of the state labor dept., and $1.5 million for community mental health & welfare services. Criminals previously “got religion” to excuse their crimes. Now they use mental health excuses. The cuts would reduce the number of police officers & curtail crime prevention efforts. The ongoing civil unrest that is frightening the citizenry requires a strong police presence with public support. Lobby your city council member to vote NO on this amendment. Email netaxpayers@gmail.com for council member contact information and to join our NE Taxpayers City Watch Project.
