Local government subdivisions
around the state are making increased noises about having to raise their property
taxes, if they do not receive enough CARES Act money to pay for unanticipated
expenses caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
There is only a finite amount of $$ available from the CARES Act. This local government threat merely provides
another excuse for cities, towns, counties, school districts, NRDs, etc. to hike
our property taxes during a time when citizens are suffering sometimes catastrophic
financial pressure from the economic downtown.
